she told me...

So we were on our way home tonight and Emma said something to daddy. I answered her. Her response, "I wasn't talking to you, mommy. I was talking to daddy."

actually

After dinner tonight, Emma asked if she could have a sucker. Both Tony and I told her no. A few minutes later, we saw her eating it. Tony told her to go throw it in the garbage, because we told her no. She looked at us and said, "Actually, it opened by itself." I couldn't stop laughing long enough to discipline her. Tony on the other hand put her in a time out for lying.

new baby

We've had a pretty crazy weekend. Emma's had her sinus gunk again. It's going on 2.5 weeks. Abby has her 6-year-old check up tomorrow, so I'm going to try to get Emma in at the same time. Poor girlie needs some antibiotics.

Yesterday was Abby's 6th birthday. She had been saving up for an American Girl Doll. After her party, she had enough saved up, so we made a quick run to the mall. Emma has wanted a bitty baby ever since the first time we stepped foot into the store. We gave Abby money for her doll as a birthday gift, so we did the same for Emma and she got to pick out her baby. She was SO excited. It was funny watching her carry this big box around the store. She wanted to carry her bag to the car and refused help. Hilarious watching her try to drag it along! She named her baby Angel a. Yes, angel, with an a at the end, but not angela. She named her baby's bear Tisdale!

chasing the boys

I needed to go to Rosedale for something last night, so Tony took the girls to the Northwoods Play Area while I shopped. I met up with them after a bit. They were so well behaved and having the time of their life!! They played SO hard! Emma found a little boy about her age that she befriended. She kept calling after him, "Hey You" One would walk away to play with something else and the other would notice they were gone and start looking for them. It was pretty cute! Because they were SO good we're going to the MOA today because I didn't find everything I was looking for. She's excited!

bring on 2009

Miss Em rang in the new year sick with a upper respiratory cold and crabbier then hell! That little girl sure has a set of lungs. I know she doesn't feel well, but is all of the screaming really necessary?! Doesn't she realize it only makes things worse?! We had her to the doctor and she thought it was still viral, so we ride it out. Seems doctors now-a-days won't treat anything. Everything is "just a virus". When I was little, they treated everything. I hate seeing the girls sick and miserable. I hate taking the wait and see approach if they have already been sick for over a week!

I've decided that her new year's resolution is to be potty trained. Fingers are crossed that she will be by April. She will use the toilet, however, she doesn't care if her pants are wet and is perfectly content to go in her pull-up. Ugh.

We had a great Christmas. Emma got everything that she wanted and then some! Santa brought her a Dora bike (that she fell off of on Christmas morning) and a baby and pajamas. Both of which she told Santa she wanted. She also got lots of other fun things like a stuffed Mickey, Sleeping Beauty dress and pajamas, a Dora scooter, movies galore... Someone must have thought she had been a good girl this year :0) We had to wake the girls up at 10:00 on Christmas morning. They both came out into the living room in a sleepy haze. After staring at the tree for a bit, they realized there were new toys under it!
